Brief Statement of Duties
Brief Statement of Duties: This position involves teaching a variety of undergraduate and/or graduate Computer Science courses, active scholarship, and service to the department and/or university. This is a campus based position.
Minimum Qualifications
Required Education: Doctorate or equivalent terminal degree
Discipline / Degree Area: Computer Science or equivalent
Required Specialized Training/Certifications: Applicants for an appointment at the Assistant Professor level must have a Ph.D. from an accredited university at the time of hire.
Required Minimum Work Experience: Evidence of teaching experience at the collegiate or secondary level (e.g. a TA or instructor position).
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, or Attributes Required for Satisfactory Performance of the Position Duties: Good communication skills.
Potential for excellence in teaching a wide range of undergraduate and/or graduate Computer Science courses.
Potential to be an active scholar in the field of Computer Science.
Additional Desirable Qualifications
Additional Desirable Qualifications: The involvement of undergraduates in research is encouraged.
A willingness to serve outside the classroom in the form of student mentoring, supervising graduate theses and projects, industry relations, quality assessment or other related activities is desired.
Experience with computer science course development and/or curriculum design is also desirable.
Active teaching experience at the university level is preferable compared to experience as a grader, tutor, consultant, or proctor.
